Thapar added the consumer notebook industry in India, which is estimated at 800,000 units a year, is expected to touch 10,00,000 units, due to rising demand.

"The market demand has revived offlate. Going by the present trend, we have revised estimated growth rates for the next year in the consumer notebook segment, to 30% from 20%," he said.

"Currently our market share is 15% in notebooks and by March 2011 we are targeting a market share of 20%, by selling around 200,000 units," Thapar said during a product launch in the city.

The major volume driver for the company would be the sub- Rs 45,000 segment in notebooks, which contributes 60% of the company's total notebook sales, he said.
