SolidWorks 3D CAD software wins Golden Mousetrap Award
Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks Corp., a world leader in 3D solutions, today announced that its SolidWorks 2008 3D CAD software has been selected as a 2008 Design News Golden Mousetrap – Best Product Winner in the CAD software category
Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks Corp. (DS SolidWorks), a world leader in 3D solutions, today announced that its SolidWorks® 2008 3D CAD software has been selected as a 2008 Design News Golden Mousetrap - Best Product Winner in the CAD software category.
The award highlights the best and brightest in the engineering community and recognizes engineering innovation and creativity in product design. "Our Golden Mousetrap Awards give innovators the recognition they justly deserve," said Design News Editor-In-Chief John Dodge. "The awards span Design News' five coverage areas, and we extend our sincerest congratulations to the winners and finalists. Their perseverance in these challenging economic times is admirable, indeed."
Awards were given in four major categories: Electronics, Motion Control/Automation,Hardware/Software,Materials/Fastening/Joining/Assembly, and 24 subcategories. Executive Editor Liz Taurasi gathered a record number of entries, distributing them to the magazine's beat editors for judging. Based on their expertise in each technology area, 75 finalists and 16 winners were selected
"SolidWorks 2008 represented an important advance in CAD software, delivering an intuitive new interface, building on SolidWorks Intelligent Feature Technology (SWIFT), and packing more advanced design analysis capabilities than any other CAD software," said Austin O'Malley, CTO of DS SolidWorks Corp.
