Singapore Airlines unveils latest suite of cabin products
When French couture joins hands with centuries-old Asian hospitality 35,000 feet above the ground, a passenger can expect nothing less than a flight in the lap of luxury. That is what Singapore Airlines (SIA) has in mind when it recently unveiled its latest suite of cabin products, which the airline promises will change the face of flying.
For those business class passengers wanting to work during the flight, the airline will provide a high adjusting table UBS ports and access to a suite of office applications as part of the in-seat entertainment system. In addition, all flyers can look forward to a larger number of on-demand entertainment and information options apart from greater interactivity on larger, high-resolution screens across all three cabins as the airline will launch the new eX2 in-flight entertainment system by Panasonic Avionics Corporation.
More expensive
The passenger may also get to experience the products, as the airline plans to retrofit the products on other aircraft also. 'We are studying the medium and the short haul routes. We will have to see whether the medium and the short-haul route passengers are willing to pay extra for the flight. The flights operated by these products will cost 10-15 per cent more than existing fares,' said Mr Khiang when asked if the products would be available on flights to India.
SIA spent four years researching and completing the refurbished interiors so as to bring back what the airline calls `The romance of flying.'
