Shasun Chemicals and Drugs Ltd., a leading pharma company focused on providing services of research and manufacture of finished dosage, APIs (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients) and intermediates to global pharma, posted a 35% per cent growth in consolidated revenue at Rs 205.64 crore for the quarter ending June 30, 2007 (Q1FY08) compared to Rs 152.50 crore in Q1 FY07. Consolidated net profit stood at Rs. 4.88 crore compared to Rs. 7.47 crore in Q1FY07. EBITDA for the Q1 was Rs. 16.66 crore as against Rs.16.63 crore in the previous years’ corresponding quarter; registering a growth of 0.19 percent.
On a standalone basis, the Income from Operations grew by 2.80 per cent to Rs.102.25 crore compared to Rs. 99.46 crore in the corresponding quarter of last year. The net profit stood at Rs 1.66 crore for the Q1FY08 as against Rs.6.17 crore in Q1 FY07. The lower profit was mainly due to lower Nizatidine sales for the quarter. The CRAM business recorded revenue of Rs 10 crore this quarter as against Rs 6 crore in Q1FY07.
Meanwhile, the wholly owned subsidiary Shasun Pharma Solutions Ltd. (SPSL) posted sale revenue of GBP 12.8 mn and PAT of GBP 0.295 mn which includes release of negative goodwill of GBP 0.278 mn.
