Serco Group plc, the UK based international service company today enters India's growing services market with the acquisition of InfoVision Group - the largest independent domestic BPO in India.

Through this acquisition, Serco will establish its brand in India and position itself as a provider of services to the public, as this market develops.

InfoVision currently provides services including customer interaction centres, direct marketing, loyalty and fulfilment programs, CRM software solutions and consultancy to clients in retail, telecoms, entertainment, IT, electronic goods, banking and insurance. Serco will offer InfoVision's domestic and international service offerings to its international customer base in addition to developing new BPO services.

Around the world, Serco is a major provider to commercial and government bodies, including delivering healthcare, providing education and training, operating air traffic control, rail and traffic management services, running IT, BPO and web portal services, managing complex science organisations and providing management consulting expertise.

Christopher Hyman, Chief Executive of Serco, said: "InfoVision is a leading company in the Indian market and we share strong values - entrepreneurialism, long-term customer relationships and delivering excellent service. We welcome all employees of InfoVision to be part of the 50,000 strong Serco family.

"With India's economy growing quickly, consumers are benefitting from rising income levels and increasing services from both government and commercial organisations which provide essential services. In order to cater to this, Indian businesses and governments are upgrading infrastructure, defining higher levels of customer experience and opening up more areas for private sector expertise. With more than 40 years experience of delivering complex and critical services around the world, we would be proud to play a part in India's further development," he added.

Aditya Gupta, President and Founder of InfoVision Group said: "We are excited to join a company of Serco's vision and business ambition. The synergies between our two organisations, fashioned on strong values and a commitment to growth, will provide us the ideal platform to address the vast opportunities we see unfolding for our industry in the years ahead. Serco's experience will also allow us to also offer a wide range of "next generation" outsourcing services to our domestic as well as our international customers. Serco is a phenomenal organisation and we are delighted to have found the right partner for InfoVision."
