SEBI allocates unutilised FII debt limit
India's capital markets regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on Friday allocated Rs 20000 crores (USD 4.4 billion) of unutilised debt limit to foreign institutional investors (FII)
India's capital markets regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on Friday allocated Rs 20000 crores (USD 4.4 billion) of unutilised debt limit to foreign institutional investors (FII).
Out of the total allocated limit, Rs 18000 crores was in corporate debt and Rs 2000 crores in government bonds, a release by the SEBI showed.
These limits must be utilised within 45 days of the allocation, the regulator said.
The total foreign institutional investment limit for corporate debt is USD 15 billion while for government bonds it is USD 5 billion.
