Scrap all Special Economic Zones in Goa ! That's the recommendation of the Task Force headed by Goa Chief Minister Digamber Kamat , reports CNBC-TV18.

The Task Force has termed SEZ s as being "detrimental to the overall interest of Goa".

The body says the benefits of industrialisation can be reaped without SEZs, by extending incentives to incoming industries.

Charles Correa , Architect & Vice Chariman, Goa SEZ Task Force, said, "The required industrial development can be achieved, if government focuses on providing excellent infrastructure in terms of roads, water and power to the incoming industrial units."

The Task Force took into account the growing anti-SEZ sentiments in the State.
