SC issues notices to govt, Cairn, Vedanta & ONGC on PIL

CNBC-TV18 reports that the Supreme Court on Monday issued notices to the Centre, Cairn Energy, ONGC and Vedanta on a petition that sought criminal investigation as well as the scrapping of the Cairn-Vedanta deal, that allegedly caused a huge loss to state-run ONGC.

The Supreme Court on Monday issued notices to the Centre, Cairn Energy, ONGC and Vedanta on a petition that sought criminal investigation as well as the scrapping of the Cairn-Vedanta deal, that allegedly caused a huge loss to state-run ONGC, reports CNBC-TV18.

The apex court has issued these notices based on the same PIL which also sought an audit by the CAG.

On November 26, 2014, Cairn India closed at Rs 273.55, up Rs 3.05, or 1.13 percent. The 52-week high of the share was Rs 385.00 and the 52-week low was Rs 258.30.


The company's trailing 12-month (TTM) EPS was at Rs 26.87 per share as per the quarter ended September 2014. The stock's price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio was 10.18. The latest book value of the company is Rs 206.66 per share. At current value, the price-to-book value of the company is 1.32.
