The Supreme Court has issued a notice to West Bengal and Tata Motors on the Nano plant land deal in Singur.

The Supreme Court is trying to say that it is all set to examine the policy of the West Bengal government to give land to Tata Motors for the Nano plant in Singur. In fact, there are allegations from the residents and the people who are living on that particular piece of land that the acquisition by the West Bengal government has been arbitrary, and no law has been followed. Moreover, no compensation has been given to them and no proper rehabilitation of the people has been done.

Besides that, there is another allegation that this particular piece of land, which has been given out to Tata Motors is a piece of fertile land, and under any policy of the government, no piece of fertile land can be given to any industrial house.
