The Supreme Court has adjourned the much-awaited Morgan Stanley tax matter till January 24, reports CNBC-TV18.

The government will file an additional affidavit in the landmark case, that could have far reaching implications on taxation of BPOs.

The government is challenging the order of advance ruling authority, which held that Morgan Stanley's Indian BPO arm does not have a permanent establishment and is hence not taxable.
