Satyam Computer Services Ltd. (NYSE: SAY), a leading global consulting and information technology services provider, announced today that it has been awarded Tier 1 Engineering Supplier Status by EADS (NYSE: EADS), an international leader in the aerospace and defense industries.

Satyam received this prestigious distinction after a stringent selection process involving approximately 2,000 suppliers. The Tier 1 designation is part of an EADS program called E2S, which supports Airbus's "Power8 program", an initiative that calls for the organization to outsource critical activities in an effort to save 2.1 billion euros (US$3.25 billion) annually. The move is necessary for Airbus and EADS to combat the effect of the weak dollar against the euro.

Satyam has worked with EADS for more than three years and has participated in its efforts to create the A380, the world's largest passenger aircraft. The company has a facility in Bangalore dedicated to Airbus, where it employs its patented RightSourcing delivery model and replicates the Airbus environment very accurately.

"This distinction is evidence of the value Satyam provides EADS and our strength in aerospace and engineering services," said Drs. Peter M. Heij, Satyam's head of Continental European operations. "Europe is a focus for our organization, and as such, we consider our relationship with EADS to be strategic. We are pleased to be able to provide EADS with the widest range of services through the most advanced delivery model, and particularly proud that we hold the distinction of being a preferred Tier 1 supplier for both engineering and application services."

Satyam's aerospace team includes 1000 employees who currently serve six of the top 10 aerospace companies in the world, as well as several Fortune 100 and 500 organizations. Its Integrated Engineering Solutions (IES) team features 4,500 professionals who are knowledgeable in a variety of critical segments, including automotive, aerospace, construction/heavy equipment, telecom and semiconductors.
