Sapient (NASDAQ: SAPE) today announced it has been certified ISO 27001 compliant for its Enterprise IT infrastructure, IT support and Office Services teams co-located at the Gurgaon and Bangalore operations in India. With more than half of Sapient's employees based in this region, this recognition strengthens Sapient's position as a trusted global partner for its clients located across North America and Europe.

ISO 27001 is the industry standard certification for Information Security Management Systems (ISMS).  This certification assures that Sapient's infrastructure support for project delivery from its India offices now complies with the industry best practices standard.  Sapient's compliance with the ISMS standard was certified by SAI Global, an independent certification body.

"As a leading global services provider, we must keep our clients' data secure at all times," said Sapient's Chief Information Officer Changappa Kodendera.  "This certification ensures greater alignment with global standards of information security.  In addition, it ensures that we can continue to safeguard our own financial and technical data."
