Bharti Airtel , which is in talks to buy the African assets of Kuwaiti telecom's Zain, on Wednesday said it had elevated Sanjay Kapoor as its chief executive for India and South Asia from March 1, a month earlier than previously announced. Bharti had in January said Kapoor, Bharti's deputy chief executive, would take over in April from Manoj Kohli, who would move to head its international business unit.
