Reliance Industries has filed a special leave petition against Bombay High Court judgement in the Supreme Court, reports CNBC-TV18. Reliance Natural Resources (RNRL) said the company asked Supreme Court to restrain RIL from supplying 40 mmscmd of gas to others and from signing contracts for the same.

RNRL asked the Supreme Court to allow RIL to sign contracts only with company as of now. It wants the apex court to direct RIL for immediate gas supply to the company and to price gas at USD 2.34 per mmbtu for 17 years. The company has asked for 28 mmscmd of gas and an additional 12 mmscmd if warranted.
Meanwhile, sources said the RIL SC petition makes the government a respondent to the case.
