The Punjab government will sign an MoU with Reliance Industries today to kick-start the Reliance Agri Retailing Project in the state. Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh and KM Modi, the Director of RIL's retail thrust are slated to sign the MoU at Chandigarh. CNBC-TV18 reports.

 

The initial investment to be made by RIL is said to be Rs 500 crore, while Rs 3,000 crore more would be invested in the coming years. The company also plans on 50 big rural business hubs and 300 smaller ones.

 

RIL also has plans to have 15,000 retail outlets across country.
