Cadence Design Systems (India) Pvt. Ltd., the Indian subsidiary of Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CDNS), today announced that RFIC Solutions, Inc., a third-party intellectual property and design service provider, has increased productivity two-fold by adopting the Cadence® Virtuoso® custom design platform. RFIC Solutions successfully completed two tapeouts within the first month of adopting the Cadence technology.
RFIC Solutions depends on Cadence Virtuoso Spectre® RF Circuit Simulator, Cadence Virtuoso Layout Editor, and the Cadence Assura® verification suite for complete RFIC designs. The Virtuoso technologies reduced the need for much of the repetitive manual work required of RF engineers in the past, enabling them to focus their time and energy on improving the designs.
Tightly integrated within the Virtuoso custom design platform, the robust Virtuoso Spectre RF Circuit Simulator helped RFIC verify RF circuits accurately using the most comprehensive suite of RF analysis. The integrated industry-standard Virtuoso Layout Editor and the full-featured Assura verification suite enabled RFIC Solutions to achieve high-density, DRC-correct layout. Cadence Assura Parasitic Extraction, one of the most accurate and popular device-level parasitic extractors available, helped RFIC Solutions extract parasitics more accurately and re-simulate the design against the specification.
“The use of the Cadence Virtuoso platform has allowed RFIC Solutions’ engineers to focus on precision crafting the designs rather than doing repetitive manual work, which has resulted in a 2X productivity boost, as well as successful completion of two tapeouts within the first month of adopting the technology. Timely support and guidance provided by Cadence during the initial learning period also helped us to achieve these successes,” said Dr. Sanjay Moghe, CEO of RFIC Solutions.
“The Cadence Virtuoso custom design platform enables design engineers to boost their productivity to deliver high-quality custom silicon on time, while allowing companies to focus valuable engineering resources on differentiating their products. The engagement at RFIC Solutions is a good example of a company being able to use cutting-edge Cadence technology effectively to achieve breakthrough results in a very short time,” said Jaswinder Ahuja, corporate vice president and managing director, Cadence Design Systems (India) Pvt. Ltd.
