There may be trouble over a proposed alliance between Renault, Nissan and General Motors, reports CNBC-TV18.
Sources say, GM is skeptical if the tie-up makes sense for the company. But General Motors' top boss, Rick Wagoner says he is willing to extend talks beyond a mid-October deadline.
Meanwhile, billionaire Kirk Kerkorian has been stepping up pressure on General Motors CEO, Rick Wagoner to consider an alliance. He said that his company, Tracinda may buy 12 million more shares of the world's largest automaker.
The expanded stake would cost about USD 393 million dollars and boost tracinda's holdings in General Motors to 12% from 9.9%.
