Anil Ambani-led Reliance Power (RPower) today said its ultra mega power project in Sasan in Madhya Pradesh has been connected to the national grid.
The project is now ready to draw electricity from the grid to provide start-up power for the first 660-mw unit, which is nearing completion, five months ahead of the schedule, it said. "The same switchyard would enable evacuation of the power to seven states which would be using power from the Sasan plant," the release said. RPower has already commenced production has from the 20 million tonne Moher and Moher-Amlohri coal mines. "The Sasan plant thus has both the fuel as well as the off-take systems in place for its commissioning ahead of schedule," it said. The company plans to supply power from the Sasan plant to seven states at Rs 1.19 per unit.
