Rediffusion l DYR has for the second year in the row secured a position among the 12 finalists of the Clio Future Gold Young Creatives Program. Rajat Dawar of Rediffusion l DYR will travel to Miami on May 13th as the Indian representative for copywriters. He is also among the only 2 copywriters selected from Asia for this program.
The Clio Awards are the world’s most recognized global awards for advertising, design, and interactive. An offshoot of the Clio Awards is the Clio Future Gold Young Creatives Program that aims to distinguish the most talented 12, globally and bring them together to test their mettle. The winning creative team chosen is awarded a Gold Clio plaque at the Clio Awards Gala.
Sagar Mahabhaleshwarkar & Ramanuj Shastry, Chief Creative Officers at Rediffusion l DYR said, “Rajat is an indication of the kind of talent that Rediffusion houses and the industry has. This is indeed a proud moment for Rediffusion since this is the second consecutive year that we have been a finalist at the Clio Young Creatives Program. We wish Rajat all the very best for the competition ahead.”
Rajat, all of 25 years, has been with Rediffusion since December 2005. He currently works on brands such as Tata Sky, Sugar Free and Indian Oil.
Rajat has also been awarded a London International Award and a New York Festival nomination for his ambient media innovation titled ‘Banana Mountain’ done for PVR Cinemas.
In 2006 he along with his art partner Preeti Verma had represented India at the Young Lions Creative Contest at Cannes after winning the AAAI Young Creative Contest for their ad titled ‘Kalpana Chawla’. Preeti Verma also from Rediffusin l DYR had qualified for the Clio Future Gold last year, where she went on to win the Gold. Together, they’ve also been nominated for the One Show Design in the corporate stationery category this year for their visiting card titled ‘Frame’ designed for Gettyimages. They also won two medals at ABBY AWARDS at Goafest 2008.
The selection process for the 12 finalists this year was based not only on raw talent, but also on their understanding of core brand problems and their ability to solve them. This year the decision was made on the basis of work in all the mediums, unlike last year where the candidates were asked to submit only their print work.
