Ravi Gopinath named MD & CEO of Geometric Software

Geometric Software Solutions (BSE – 532312, NSE – GEOMETRIC), announced today that its Board of Directors has appointed Dr. Ravi Gopinath as the Company's Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer . The appointment reflects Geometric's on-going succession planning process and is effective 4th October, 2006. Dr. Ravi Gopinath succeeds Manu Parpia, who will continue serving as Vice Chairman & Executive Director of Geometric.

As a result of an extensive global search, Geometric's Board of Directors believes it has chosen an outstanding leader who will guide Geometric's efforts to expand the markets it addresses and seek new opportunities in the growing PLM and engineering services industry around the globe.

Manu Parpia as the founder CEO of Geometric, has been the driving force of the Company. He has been responsible for growing the Company from just over 50 people in '94 to over 1800 people today. He took the Company Public in 2000 and has overseen the building of several key relationships with major customers during his tenure. During the transition, Ravi Gopinath will report to Manu Parpia, who will continue to oversee the 3D PLM joint venture and the products businesses of Geometric.
