Pavastatin is a cholestrol reducing drug. The Pravastatin 80 mg market-size is estimated at USD 200-210 million. April 20th was the patent expiry date for Pravastatin and the deal was expected to happen last year which didn't happen becuase of the complications Ranbaxy faced at that time. Analysts believe that in the next six months Ranbaxy can garner anywhere around USD 20-25 million.
