Raj Television Network Ltd is planning to expand its bouquet of channels by adding a few more in another twenty months involving a capital expenditure of Rs 50 crore. According to Mr M. Ravindran, the company will foray into other languages including Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam. Announcing the launch of its free-to-air music channel - Raj Musix, he said Raj will also launch a Tamil news channel soon.

Currently, it has two entertainment channels - Raj TV and Raj Digital Plus, and both are free-to-air.

The new music channel, which is set to go on air from Wednesday (January 23), will beam programmes 24X7.

Apart from music, Raj Musix will also offer some infotainment programmes under its Lifestyle section. Essentially, it will have five hours of live programmes and five hours of recorded programmes everyday, said Mr Ravindran.

It is expected that the channel will add Rs 3 crore to the company's topline in the first year of operation.
