- The Indian Excellence in Radio Award (ERA) for "Station of the Year" went to Radio City, Bangalore
- The Indian Excellence in Radio Award (ERA) for "RJ of the Year (English)" went to RJ Vasanthi, Radio City Bangalore
- The Indian Excellence in Radio Award (ERA) for "RJ of the Year (Hindi)" was awarded to Love Guru
Speaking on the overwhelming response at India Radio Forum 2007, Ms. Apurva Purohit, CEO, Radio City 91.1FM said, "We are very proud of Bangalore! Of all the Radio City stations in the country, Bangalore faced the maximum competition last year. At a time when seven other radio stations were being launched in the city, it was tough to keep a high connect with the audience. It's a good thing that all our efforts have paid off!".
She added, "Over the years we have given importance to everything that interests and affects the lives of our listeners. In the last 5 years of existence, we have attempted many varied formats on air and listeners have loved this experimentation, the freshness that we have provided them with. While our shows continue to delight our listeners and the good news is that we are constantly using listener feedback to create newer and relevant content. Awards in these popular categories only go to reiterate that our efforts towards delivering an unmatched listening experience to our listeners are being recognized!"
The previous year saw Radio City stealing the limelight by bagging seven awards that included three gold and four silver awards. The radio station pocketed the gold awards for best promotional item for a radio station or programme (Musical-e-Azam), best original music composition for a promo (Namma Naadu Karunaadu) and best promotional campaign by a radio station or programme (Musical-e-Azam).
The brand took home silver awards for best original music composition for a promo (Radio City song), best promotional item for a radio station or programme (Musical-e-Azam), best interactive promotion for a radio station (City Bajao car le jao) and best use of outdoor advertising (Asha Bhonsle live on Musical-e-Azam).
A sustained focus on understanding listeners and leveraging the synergies of music expertise and innovative programming, allows Radio City to deliver a unique listening experience and be an integral part of the lives of listeners across markets. Aggressively looking at spreading the Radio City experience to new markets across the country, Radio City 91.1FM is committed to growing the market and creating superlative content for premium audiences.
