Progress Software signs MoU with IIIT Hyderabad

Progress Software, a leading provider of Infrastructure software products in the integration and Data infrastructure space, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IIIT Hyderabad, to promote entrepreneurial development of technology intensive products leveraging Progress Software's platform for distributed computing.  

 

The MoU signed by Mr. Ramesh Loganathan, MD, Progress Software and Dr. Rajeev Sangal Director IIIT-H, seals the commitment of the two organizations to provide state-of-the-industry framework for technology at Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) lab of IIIT.

 

Speaking at the event, Mr. Peter Sliwkowski, VP Products and member of e-team said, "The objective of Progress Software's MoU with IIIT-H is to build industry-academia relationship and provide student entrepreneurs and upcoming developers a platform for gearing up to the challenges of the Hi-tech world."

 

The MoU envisages setting up of the hardware and developer software licenses by Progress Software, providing a platform facilitating students to develop products within the CIE lab. Progress Software will provide assistance to any product being built in the lab on Progress Software's platform.

 

Mr. Dr. Rajeev Sangal, Director IIIT-H added, "The commitment and support extended by Progress Software to academic entrepreneurship moves us a step closer towards developing ideas and converting them into technologies suitable for businesses and society. The confidence of industry in a young research institute like ours, lies in our capability to accommodate enterprise development, a logical extension to primary roles of education and intellectual discovery."."

 

This relationship will also help students in getting a better perspective in the middleware and integration space through Lecture series and technological talks by tech visionaries from Progress Software. Students can also take up summer internship projects at Progress Software.

 

Guidance will be provided to students on Product Engineering to any of the Entrepreneurship cell's product initiatives.
