Philips unveils Tornado CFL lamps

Philips Electronics , India's leading lighting company, in its constant endeavor to meet the growing need for innovative and energy efficient lighting systems, has unveiled the New ultra compact  spiral shaped Tornado CFL lamps. New Tornado CFL lamps are advanced, user friendly and targeted at enhancing user experience offering features like smaller size, greater brightness and energy efficiency.

 

Key Features of New Tornado CFLs:

 

  • New Tornado CFLs are 20% brighter than conventional CFL lamps.
  • They are 40% smaller than conventional CFL lamps which makes it ideal for smaller light fittings
  • Part of the new generation CFL bulbs, New Tornado lamps last an average of 6000 hours.  Each one provides a saving of 80% in energy consumed compared to incandescent lamps. That's a saving of INR 500 and 84 kilos of CO2 per lamp per year.
  • These lamps are ideal for use in homes, offices, shops, showrooms, hotels, and restaurants etc  

Commenting on the launch of its latest product, Mathew Job, Marketing Director - Lighting Sector, Philips Electronics India Limited said, "We are determined to unlock the potential of lighting to deliver meaningful and exciting benefits to users in different applications. Extensive research among CFL users has indicated that there is a distinct need to have a 'small yet bright' CFL lamp which fits well into all kinds of lamp shades. This new range of Tornado CFL lamps has been launched to fulfill this growing consumer need."

 

Pricing and availability

 

The Philips Tornado T2 range is available in 5watts/8watts/12watts and in both pin type and screw type base options. Consumers can choose from warm white and cool daylight color options, available at affordable prices. The products will be sold through all leading electrical stores.
