Michael Moritz , General Partner of Sequoia Venture Capital , known for investing in Google, Youtube and Oracle, in an exclusive interview to CNBC-TV said there's a big difference between private equity investments and those by venture capital funds.

"There is a big difference between the business that we conduct and what you pitch and hold perhaps is private equity or leverage buyouts, we almost never ever used that. Our holding periods are extremely long. We buy equity and want to be partner shareholders, side by side participants for the founders' and the entrepreneurs' management teams, who are building the business. We have very long-term views of these businesses," he added.
