Pay-for-delay ban is likely to be dropped from the US Healthcare Bill, reports CNBC-TV18. The provision was to bar out-of-court patent settlements.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) had sought curbs on out-of-court deals. It had proposed this provision in consumer interest.

Ranbaxy Laboratories , Lupin , Dr Reddy Laboratories , and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals are involved in patent litigations. The Healthcare Bill is to be voted over the weekend in the US Congress.
