Offshoring of engineering services could be the next big thing after the BPO boom, reports CNBC-TV18.
A report by Nasscomm and management consultant Booz Allen Hamilton says that engineering services could be a USD 1.1 trillion industry by 2020.
The report adds that while current share of offshore sevices is only 12%, it is well positioned to increase that to 25% by 2020.
The report says that this will increase job oppurtunities not only in major metros but in rural areas as well.
