Vipul Mehrotra, director & head of smart phone devices, Nokia India, says that globally the Lumia series has received a good response and Nokia is again back in the market with a bang.

Below is the edited transcript of his interview to CNBC-TV18.

Q: Nokia has already lost substantial market share and marketing has been one of your key weaknesses . How will you ensure that Windows Phone 8 device range that you have launched today reaches its target audience?

A: The strength of marketing would be to strengthen experiential marketing. The areas that we will focus in retail will be experiential marketing of low light pictures, image stabilised pictures and wireless charging.

Q: Are you betting the companies future in India on the additions to the Nokia Lumia series?

A: Everyone loved the comeback which we made. Lumia is a comeback model in the high end segment globally this product has received phenomenal response. Nokia is back with a bang. Definitel,y these three devices will make a big stride in our smart phone portfolio.

Q: We have seen tax raids at Nokia's Chennai and Gurgaon offices over the last 48 hours. Some are pointing out that maybe this is on account of the retrospective tax amendment. Can you share details as to what led to this tax probe or the tax raids on Nokia in India?

A: We abide by the laws, we are doing everything by the book and we are cooperating 110 percent with the authorities. Beyond this I cannot comment.
