Elaborating on the current business environment,  Mr. Chakrapani GK, Country General Manager, Nokia Enterprise Solutions said, "Enterprises are waking up to a new order where workforces are getting increasingly mobile and there is a definite need to ensure their productivity, even when they operate from remote locations.  These business scenarios mandate higher adoption of core functionalities like secure e-mail access, advanced voice features, access to the intranet and mobilised applications like field and sales force automation."

Added Chakrapani, "The Nokia for Business strategy addresses the true needs of mobility to corporate leaders, IT managers and professionals. With the comprehensive Eseries device portfolio, coupled with our experience of driving mobilised applications and security solutions, Nokia will be the trusted partner for extending mobility to Indian Enterprises."

Enterprise class devices include the Nokia 9500 Communicator, Nokia 9300 and 9300i, Nokia 6708, and the newly launched Eseries.

Nokia Eseries has been designed keeping in mind the pervasive need of business users to stay connected anytime, anywhere. The devices offer secure mobile access, advanced voice and data functionalities and combine productive features of e-mail, connectivity options, superior voice quality with attractive, easy to use designs. All the devices have a distinct form factor ranging from full messaging keyboard (E70) to a four-way joystick (E61), to give enterprises a variety of devices to select from. The newly launched Eseries devices are the first mobile handsets in the industry to support remote device management based on OMA DM (standard made by Open Mobile Alliance) thereby providing IT managers a powerful tool to remotely configure, control and protect corporate data on the handheld devices through remote device access, application management and customization.

The Nokia E60, Nokia E61, Nokia E50 and Nokia E70 will support popular corporate mobile email solutions like BlackBerry Connect, GoodLink from Good Technology, Inc., IntelliSync Wireless Email. This gives businesses a variety of ways to make it easier for employees to collaborate or respond rapidly in or out of the office. Companies deploying an Avaya or Cisco IP PBX can connect the new Nokia devices directly to their corporate phone networks, enabling functions employees have come to expect from a corporate network like four-digit dialing and assisted call answering.

Nokia recently conducted an independent research with Saffron Hill to examine the readiness of organizations across six major cities in Asia to adopt business mobility. Key findings of the research indicate that organizations in Bangkok and Singapore are the most ready to mobilise their businesses while organizations in India, Kuala Lumpur have the potential to drive higher adoption. Sharing the rationale behind this research, Mr. Chakrapani added, Through this study and with the introduction of the Mobility Readiness Index, we continue to gain deeper insight on the current readiness of organizations going mobile, their challenges, motivations, as well as their future intentions. This will help us to customize our offerings and drive business mobility adoption in India."
