Telecom Secretary Siddhartha Behura said there is no ban on Tata Teleservices from providing services along with Virgin Mobile , reports CNBC-TV18, quoting agencies. The Ministry has only sought clarification from Tata Teleservices and has no plan to stall their commercial launch, he said.

The government also plans to consider allowing mobile virtual network operators, or MVNO, to operate in India, Behura said. "We will ask TRAI to make recommendations on MVNOs."

The Ministry will take a final decision on hiking spectrum usage charges shortly, he added.
