Bharti Airtel says it has no plans to cut SMS charges as of now, reports CNBC-TV18, quoting NewsWire18.
The company also said that the market was ready for mobile number portability. Recently, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India had set the cost for switching between operators at Rs 19. This facility is expected to roll out in metros and category A circles on December 31.
Commenting on the ongoing price war, the company says tariffs are a consequence of the competitive intensity in the industry.
According to India's largest mobile operator, allocation of 3G spectrum should happen within a year.
It also ruled out any global acquisitions at present.
