The Department of Mines and Geology will take up the investigations and detailed prospecting work, with 50:50 financial contribution from both the partners.
Iron ore miner NMDC has also come forward to set up a steel plant in the State if the iron ore reserves were found to be more than 100 million tonnes. It is also likely to revive the closed Chigurukunta gold mines in Chittoor district. Taken from Business Line
