Nissan India today said Hover Automotive India will be its sole exclusive distribution partner in the country, which will also manage its sales and marketing activities apart from building customer touch-points.

Nissan had appointed Hover as its service partner for marketing, sales, after-sales service and dealer development in 2008, the Japanese firm said in a statement issued here. "The agreement will also help us to further imbed and
localise our operations here," the Japanese car maker said.

Nissan manufactures and sells the popular hatchback Micra and the Sunny sedan, both being rolled out from its Oragadam, Chennai plant. The company will be launching its third home-grown model Evalia, an urban-class utility vehicle, later this year.

Last year Nissan doubled its capacity of its Oragadam plant to 4,00,000 units per year.

"Our confirmation that we are strengthening our bond with Hover will significantly benefit our  business within one of the key strategic global markets, and shows our commitment to further localise our brand here," Nissan corporate vice-pesident India, Africa and the Middle East Toru Hasegawa said.

As per the agreement, Hover will undertake sales and marketing, customer relations, dealer development, sales and marketing related public relations, training and aftersales service in India as Nissan's exclusive distributor. It will
continue to operate as an independent company with an exclusive distribution agreement with Nissan.
