NetXcell Ltd, the pioneers in providing Telecom Application Services today announced the signing of a pan-India agreement with Idea Cellular Ltd. for providing the SMS based value added services with shortcode 5 - 9595.
With this agreement Idea Mobile Subscribers across 11 circles in India will be able to access variety of services like News Alerts, Phrase translator, MCX Feed etc. by dialing 5-9595, national shortcode created by NetXcell.
Regular Subscribers- There are number of new and innovative services that any Idea user can access through 9595 like Party information (PG3) where user can get information on most happenings parties in the town and the celebrity, Corporate Info including the most important events of the big blue chip companies like new appointments and share holders meeting, MCX Feed where the prices of commodities can be accessed on push or pull basis and Astrology where the user can get basic information about the day and their sun sign. For eg: To access news alerts subscriber can dial 5-9595 666
Further Corporate Subscribers can benefit - This service can also be used by the corporate customers for whom 9595 can be subleased with any multimodal number and then can be used for giving information on the new products and services by just SMSing the shortcode with the applicable suffix of the product/service. For eg. 5-9595 123 can be dialed for getting information on a Car newly launched in market.
9595 can also be used by the companies for mobile marketing which is the next big thing in the mobile industry and can even be outsourced to companies like Google or eBay etc to search or sell a product.
“9595 is a further demonstration of our commitment to be a National Player in VAS business. We will offer Idea subscribers with unique and innovative range of services. For NetXcell this will be an additional revenue generator as several vendors of services/products can route their marketing through us. Agreement with Idea will help us in taking a step ahead towards this”, said Mr. Debasis Chatterji, Director-Operations, NetXcell.
Short codes are widely used for value-added services such as television voting, charity donations and mobile services. SMS’s sent to these Short Codes are commonly referred to as Premium Rate SMS Messages and cost around 80 paise to Rs.6 per text.
