WorldSpace Inc., one of the world leaders in satellite-based digital radio services, has chosen NetMagic’s host of services to enhance the operational efficiency of their customer care and billing application. The company selected NetMagic as their partner in this endeavor due to NetMagic’s quality services and professionalism.
WorldSpace, a global media and entertainment company positioned to offer a satellite radio experience to consumers around the world, went public in August 2005, and was putting in a new customer care and billing application but lacked a hosting facility available to run their systems. In addition, the Sarbanes Oxley Act mandated that they have their applications hosted in a secure, fully-equipped facility.
Keeping these requirements in mind, WorldSpace purchased two major enterprise-wide applications with one of them being a customer care and billing application for call centers, billing and new orders. This application needed to be hosted in India considering that their current call center was based here and the company’s growing focus on the Indian subcontinent. In light of this, they were keenly looking out for vendors who could fulfill their requirement.
Mike Berkley, Chief Information Officer, WorldSpace said, “We approached a leading conglomerate that is known for their expertise in hosting solutions and while the solution was strong, we felt that we did not receive the personal attention required. After meetings with the NetMagic team and a walk-through of their state-of-the-art data center, we were confident we would receive the attention we needed as a customer in addition to the high quality hosting services that were so critical to our operation. NetMagic acted like our business was important to them. We have discovered that NetMagic is a very willing partner who is ready to work with us in every aspect of the services required from them. We consider them to be our premier hosting associate in India.”
Sharad Sanghi, Chief Executive Officer, NetMagic said, “This partnership is very important to us and we want to ensure that WorldSpace receives the finest service possible through our host of technologies. We believe that WorldSpace is a global leader in their particular space and look forward to a continued partnership with them.”
WorldSpace is satisfied with the execution of the project and thrilled about the data center hosted within the stipulated timelines. The company has signed a three year support services agreement with NetMagic.
