India’s IT industry body NASSCOM has lashed out against a newspaper report that claims that a British TV Channel bought privileged information and confidential data from an Indian BPO, reports CNBC-TV18.
India's IT industry body NASSCOM has lashed out against a newspaper report that claims that a British TV Channel bought privileged information and confidential data from an Indian BPO, reports CNBC-TV18.
The Indian IT establishment has swung into action. This is after reports that a UK TV channel has bought credit card details and other personal information from an Indian BPO staff.
Industry body NASSCOM has released a statement expressing doubts about the truth of the story. They are accusing sting operations of inducing criminal activity by offering money.
In hindsight, it seems a NASSCOM press conference a week ago, was prescient, if not pre-emptive. NASSCOM Chief, Kiran Karnik, was at his voluble best, and repeatedly made one point- "The Indian BPO industry is more safe than a lot of other places."
