Tata Mutual Fund has enhanced its exposure in banking & financial services, information technology and consumer non-durables sector, while decreased its weightage in oil & gas, utilities and pharmaceuticals space.

Tata Mutual Fund has enhanced its exposure in banking & financial services, information technology and consumer non-durables sector, while decreased its weightage in oil & gas, utilities and pharmaceuticals space.

Petronet LNG, Jaiprakash Power Ventures and Jaiprakash Associates were the top buys, while Gujarat State Petronet, Rain Commodities and Tata Motors (DVR) were the top sells.

The study of portfolio managed by Tata Mutual Fund for the month of October 2012 shows that, in the banking & financial services sector the fund bought ICICI Bank, Axis Bank and Oriental Bank of Commerce. It also introduced Power Finance Corporation and Bajaj Finance. However, it sold SBI, IDFC and Bank of Baroda in the same sector.

In the information technology space, it purchased HCL Technologies, TCS and Wipro, while it sold Polaris Financial Technology, eClerx Services and Infosys. (View - All Bulk Deals by Mutual Funds).

The fund bought Emami, Colgate Palmolive and Godrej Consumer Products but it sold Dabur India in consumer non-durables sector.

In the oil & gas segment the fund sold ONGC, Reliance Industries and Gujarat State Petronet and also exited Gujarat Gas Company. However, it purchased Petronet LNG, Cairn India and Mangalore Refinery in the same space.

In the utilities sector it sold Power Grid, CESC and exited NHPC. But it bought Neyveli Lignite Corporation. Check out - Which sectors are attracting Fund Managers?).

The fund sold Lupin, Cipla and exited Unichem Laboratories and Torrent Pharmaceuticals in the pharmaceuticals pack. However, it purchased GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals, Dr Reddys Laboratories and Strides Arcolab.
