The Civil Aviation Minister, Mr Praful Patel, has told newspersons that "there have been some slippages in time", in the modernisation work of the Mumbai Airport, which are mainly due to excessive air traffic and slum rehabilitation issue.

The Minister added that there would be some solution soon.

On `Vision-2020', the policy paper on civil aviation industry, the Minister said, it has been referred to the Group of Ministers because a wider consultation was required on the matter.

Mr Patel said, "As is usually the case when there are wide policy ramifications, it is always better to have a wider consultation process."

He added that since it is a policy drafted till the year 2020, the decisions taken for the industry would have "very wide ramification".
