Shri H K Roy Choudhury, Executive Director, SAIL-VISL inaugurated the new 50TPD Oxygen Plant and said that the facility created by MSPL with state of art technology will help VISL in getting consistent supply of oxygen.This is a prerequisite for increasing liquid steel production.The establishment of new Oxygen Plant on BOO scheme at VISL is in line with the policy of SAIL, which encourages private participation in creating and maintaining supporting facilities so that SAIL can concentrate on its main core objective of manufacturing steel.The establishment of Oxygen Plant is a testimony for joint participation of public and private enterprises for consolidation of economic gains of the nation.
The plant will produce oxygen with specific power consumption of less than 1.00 unit per cubic meter.This tailor-made plant can meet the flexible oxygen demand of this steel plant maintaining high quality standards for purity, pressure and flow.
This Oxygen Plant also has a provision of turning down the ratio of production to match with the requirement of the consuming plant.This would in turn facilitate steel producers to save oxygen during slack consumption period.
