MSPL Limited, the single largest installed wind power generator in India, has emerged as the world's largest wind energy producer in terms of capacity that registered with United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

UNFCCC is an international treaty working towards global warming reduction and most countries are members of the treaty.

"The registration from UNFCCC would enable the company to generate the maximum 2.5 million certified emissions reductions (CERs) from the developing countries under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM)", said Mr. Shrenik Baldota, Executive Director of MSPL Ltd.

"This is a rare milestone that would result in earning by selling carbon credit valued at about Rs 200-250 crore in the next 10 years," Mr. Baldota observed.

The UN body conferred the prestigious registration to the MSPL's 125 MW wind power project in Karnataka which was constructed under the global norms with an investment of Rs 675 crore.
