Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT), a global leader in wireless communications, and Tata Teleservices Limited, India's fastest growing telecom service provider, today furthered the vision to connect the next billion wireless subscribers by signing an open distribution agreement to offer Indian consumers the latest Motorola CDMA mobile phones.
MOTOFONE F3C, RADIOMOTO W210 and RADIOMOTO W170 will be available through Tata Indicom’s distribution network of more than 60,000 retailers countrywide.
“We are delighted to collaborate with Tata Teleservices to offer Motorola’s stylish, CDMA portfolio to Indian consumers. Through this alliance, we will complement each others’ strengths to offer consumers a complete value proposition - a wide choice with ‘style’, sleek sophistication, enhanced features and excellent quality of service,” said Malcolm Dawe, Vice President & General Manager, Motorola India Mobile Devices.
“Motorola’s compelling CDMA portfolio includes the MOTOFONE F3C, RADIOMOTO W210 and RADIOMOTO W170, which unite outstanding design, features and functionality for an incredible consumer experience,” he continued.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Darryl Green, Chief Executive Officer of Tata Teleservices said, “Value, choice and convenience have been the hallmark of all Tata Indicom’s offerings. The agreement with Motorola for an open distribution pact is an initiative that will further enable us to offer our consumers the exciting portfolio of cutting edge mobile devices from Motorola. The recent addition of the single chip based MOTOFONE F3C, along with the new stylish RADIOMOTO W210 & RADIOMOTO W170 will truly delight our customers and allow them to enjoy the benefits of style, easy access and affordability.”
Giving consumers a stylish and reliable way to communicate, RADIOMOTO W210 and RADIOMOTO W170 add CDMA connectivity while providing feature rich experience.
· The wickedly cool RADIOMOTO W210 combines versatility and style with robust features to create a stunning new handset in the CDMA portfolio. With a striking two tone appearance and colourful wallpaper options, the W210 extends Motorola’s design philosophy across the MOTOMOBILE platform. The handset has a built in stereo FM radio offering real-time access to information and entertainment on the move. The W210 also comes with Motorola’s Lantern feature for illumination at night or in dark environments.
The stylish RADIOMOTO W170 further extends the CDMA portfolio. Measuring a slender 14.6mm thick, this handset features 32-level polyphonic sound, up to 500 phonebook entries, SMS and a high quality speakerphone.
MOTOFONE F3C is also available as part of the initial offering through the Tata Indicom network. Based on Motorola’s evolutionary new SCPL design platform, MOTOFONE is the first of a new breed of handsets designed to disrupt today’s communications landscape by cutting across price tiers, product segments and international markets. MOTOFONE re-establishes expectations over how a value-priced handset looks and feels and what it delivers. It also has a speakerphone, 32-level polyphonic ringtones, and preloaded local Bollywood ringtones for an enhanced experience. Offering an intuitive new interface built with icons and voice versus text, as well as voice prompts specifically tailored to local markets, the handset makes it easier and friendlier for first-time users to navigate, place a call, and retrieve messages. Its large, high contrast screen, powered by a revolutionary ClearVision™ display makes it easier to use the phone outdoors.
