Global financial majors Morgan Stanley , Citigroup and Actis have picked up a total of 6% stake in the country's largest stock exchange, the National Stock Exchange, reports CNBC-TV18.

 

According to the NSE release, Morgan Stanley had entered an agreement to acquire 3%, while Citigroup will be picking up 2% and Actis 1% equity in the NSE.

 

This takes the combined foreign direct investment in NSE to 26%, the limit foreign ownership in domestic stock exchanges.
