Montek calms Vodafone; advises to 'get on with business'

After a meeting with Planning Commission vice-chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Analjit Singh, chairman, Vodafone India told CNBC-TV18 that he is hopeful that retro amendment issues would be addressed.

After a meeting with Planning Commission vice-chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Analjit Singh, chairman, Vodafone India told CNBC-TV18 that he is hopeful that retro amendment issues would be addressed.

Though the discussions did not include spectrum-related issues, Analjit Singh said he was told to "get on with business". He explained that Vodafone would not be disappointed in the long-term


The meeting assumes significance in the backdrop of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh taking charge of the finance and other ministries related to the economy. With the Prime Minister being directly in-charge aides like Ahluwalia are expected to play an even bigger role in the government.
