Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd ( MCX ) today announced the launch of the Gujarati version of its website (http://gujarati.mcxindia.com). Mr. B C Khatua, Chairman, Forward Markets Commission (FMC), was the chief guest of honor and launched the MCX website by unveiling the first page of the website.

On the occasion Mr. B C Khatua, Chairman, FMC said, “I congratulate MCX for this initiative of creation of a Gujarati website. A website in Gujarati will provide a window of information to Gujarati traders, investors and farmers and will go a long way in popularizing commodity futures market among the community. I am sure, the stakeholders and prospective market participants will find the website useful. I wish the initiative all success.”

Mr. Venkat R Chary, Chairman, MCX, said “The website is aimed at providing a point of interlinkage between regional investors and MCX. The website has been developed to increase awareness of price discovery among the Gujarati speaking community who are deprived of information or do not understand the markets due to language barrier. Most of the knowledge sharing on the internet is done on English websites, this limits the information flow. The Gujarati website is the first step taken towards this by MCX to overcome the language barrier and reach to the masses.”

Mr. Joseph Massey, MD & CEO, MCX said, “Easy language of the content is aimed at making the website an interesting reading not only to the stake-holders, but also for any one who is interested in knowing about the commodity market. We hope that the website will help more and more participants by providing them with instant information in Gujarati, which they can easily comprehend and like to read.”

The participants will have access to updated price information through the website to assist them in further understanding of the pricing mechanism. The website is focused on educating the participants about commodities futures markets and make them aware of various developments transformed into the Gujarati version of the website.

Besides, price awareness, the website will also share information on various commodities and the commodity market. The website will include all the relevant information required by a market participant to enter the market like do’s and don’ts, contract specifications, product details, membership details, press releases, news coverage and other important information. The site viewers will also have reach to contact number of regional centres.
