Market Update: Midcaps outperform; IGL hit 52-week high; Bharti Airtel, Bharti Infra top gainer
In the Nifty50 Index, the top gainers were GAIL India which was up 2.33 percent followed buy Bharti Infratel which added 1.79 percent while Sterlite Technologies was the top gainer in the BSE which zoomed 8.92 percent.

Indian markets opened on a positive note on Wednesday with the BSE Sensex gaining over 80 points, a rise of 0.25 percent from yesterday's close while the Nifty50 also traded on a positive note, up 32.10 points at 10049.05.
In the Nifty50 Index, the top gainers were Bharti Airtel which was up 3.82 percent, GAIL India added 2.33 percent followed buy Bharti Infratel which added 1.79 percent. Within the banking space, Axis Bank was the top gainer with 1.35 percent gain while oil & gas major ONGC added close to a 1 percent gain.
The stocks that hit new 52-week high on the Nifty were Gillette India, Avenue Supermarts, Motilal Oswal, Mahanagar Gas and TVS Motor Company while on the BSE, Indraprastha Gas, HEG, Dilip Buildcon, Tata Chemicals and Bata India were some of the few stocks that hit 52-week high.In the Nifty50 Index, the advance-decline ratio was strongly in favour of the advances with 34 in advances and 15 in decline. On the Other hand BSE Index also painted the same picture with 1351 advances as against 625 declines.
