Manjushree registers 126% growth in PAT in Sept 07 Qtr

The Bangalore based Plastic Packaging Technology major Manjushree Extrusions Ltd. (Manjushree) registered a turnover of Rs 1944 Lacs for the quarter ended September 30, 2007 compared to turnover of Rs 1811 Lacs in the corresponding quarter in previous year recording an increase of 7%. Operating profit before interest, depreciation, exceptional items and taxes was higher by 63% at Rs 289 Lacs compared to Rs 177 Lacs. After providing for financial charges of Rs 40 Lacs (Rs 42 Lacs) and amortizations of Rs 86 Lacs (Rs 53Lacs) the profit before tax grew to Rs 150 Lacs as against Rs 83 Lacs recording an increase of 80%. Net profit after tax increased by 126% to Rs 97 Lacs as against Rs 43 Lacs and EPS stood at Rs 2.30 compared to Rs 1.02 in the previous period.

 

For the half year ended 30th September 2007, the company registered a turnover of Rs 3755 Lacs compared to turnover of Rs 3498 Lacs in the corresponding period in previous year recording an increase of 7%. Operating profit before interest, depreciation, exceptional items and taxes was higher by 49% at Rs 540 Lacs compared to Rs 363 Lacs. After providing for financial charges of Rs 81 Lacs (Rs 83 Lacs) and amortizations of Rs 160 Lacs (Rs 128 Lacs) the profit before tax grew to Rs 285 Lacs as against Rs 153 Lacs recording an increase of 86%. Net profit after tax increased by 103% to Rs 186 Lacs as against Rs 92 Lacs and the EPS stood at Rs 4.42 compared to Rs 2.18.

 

The Board of the company met on October 31st 2007 and adopted the audited financial results for the 2nd quarter and half year ended September 30th 2007.
