MakeMyTrip extends its lowest-tariff to hotels category

Extending its reputed lowest-fare guarantee to the booming Hotels sector, MakeMyTrip, the first comprehensive online travel site in India has set its sights on capturing this lucrative segment. The Company offers real time booking for flights and hotels on the website and has launched a campaign to promote its guaranteed lowest tariffs for hotels. Customers who find a lower tariff anywhere will be paid double the difference by MakeMyTrip. This offer is valid both for bookings made online and through the call centre.  

 

Sharing more on this initiative, Mr. Keyur Joshi, Co - founder and Chief Operating Officer at MakeMyTrip.com said, "The lowest-tariff guarantee has always been associated with MakeMyTrip and has proved to be a successful differentiator for our business. Over the last year we have invested in creating a robust inventory of hotels and strengthening alliances with our partners. As a result, we can now extend our lowest-fare guarantee to hotels as well. We are confident that this be an impetus for driving both online and offline sales for this category." 

 

The hotels business is a fast growing and important segment for MakeMyTrip. In the previous fiscal, 10% of the total revenue was generated from hotel bookings. The company expects the hotels booking business to pose a 200% growth in revenues in 2008-2009 and aims to increase its inventory of hotels to over 4000. 60% of room-nights booked through MakeMyTrip last year were booked online. In line with its vision to focus on non-air business this year, MakeMyTrip has also set up regional offices in 20 locations in the last 6 months and plans to expand further this year.
