A 380-member team from MakeMyTrip , the country's leading Online Travel Agency, has successfully accomplished the biggest-ever rafting trip organized in India. This was a part of the company's annual employee off-site. The last-mile provider for the trip in Rishikesh was Aquaterra Adventures, the pioneer in adventure travel throughout the Indian Himalaya.

This is the first time that 380 people together underwent the complete experience of whitewater wilderness in Rishikesh. Besides rafting, the trip consisted of kayaking, hiking and trekking. Through the entire length of this expedition, care was taken to have minimal impact on the environment and to ensure that the surroundings were left as undisturbed as possible.

Speaking on this unique experience Sachin Bhatia, Chief Strategy Officer and Co-Founder, MakeMyTrip said "Achieving this milestone feels great! MakeMyTrip is a fun-place-to-work and our off-sites for Trippers always border on the adventurous. This was a very challenging and thrilling trip among the rivers of Rishikesh. The purpose behind our off-site - team-building and fun, was achieved superbly as 380 Trippers made their way together through the rapids. MakeMyTrip is synonymous with making travel fun and hassle-free - as a brand we have proved that we live this in a 3600 manner. "

Vaibhav Kala, CEO, Aquaterra Adventures said, "Environment has always been a core concern for Aquaterra while planning trips for our clients. This trip involving 380 pax was a challenge not just logistically but also from the aspect of responsible tourism. We are proud to have successfully and responsibly executed this trip for MakeMyTrip. We share a long association with them and making history together is an accomplishment we cherish."

Whitewater River Rafting involves extreme and never-ending thrills in untamed rivers. The rivers in the upper Himalayas with many staircase rapids are among the best in the world for river rafting sports. India and Nepal has a wide range of river rafting regions, and the most popular rafting sites include Ladakh in Jammu & Kashmir, the Garhwal Himalayas in Uttaranchal, the Beas River of Himachal Pradesh and Teesta River in Sikkim.

MakeMyTrip is India's most-preferred OTA as per a recent survey by TravelBizMonitor. The company offers best-deal travel solutions including bus tickets, domestic and international air tickets, hotel-bookings and holidays (both group and customized).

Aquaterra are pioneers in adventure travel throughout the Indian Himalaya, offering the widest range of adventure travel products, from soft adventure trips to challenging expedition travel. They lay tremendous emphasis on safety, meticulous planning and top-notch guides and equipment and are also known for their ability to run large groups in difficult environments.
