Mahindra arm to bid for USD 3.5bn defence deals

The defence systems unit of India's top vehicle maker Mahindra & Mahindra will bid for domestic defence projects worth $3.5 billion over the next seven years, its chief executive said on Monday.

"Most of them (projects) will come from artillery systems and armoured vehicles," Khutub A. Hai, head of India's largest manufacturer of armoured vehicles Mahindra Defence Systems, told Reuters in an interview.
